Scúru Fitchádu

A crossroad between distorted basslines, fast pace beats, noise, concertina/ferro and a bunch of knives….

A undiscovered path, with the new music languages paying a visit to Cape Verdean traditional music form Funana without modesty in form of a furious punk aesthetics locomotive. Scúru Fitchádu is the adventure of Sette Sujidade which started in 2016. Combining the urban electronic underground sounds from Lisbon like drum ‘n bass with the funaná style from Cape Verde and the energy and attitude from punk, creates a new and distinctive sound.

Scúru Fitchádu is a restless journey of heavy and fast pace music, heartbeat acceleration and liberation music

“As subtle as a firework bomb. […] Scúru Fitchádu perfectly fits obscure squatter’s parties, but summer festivals as well. Please write them down for Lowlands in the X-Ray, or even on a larger stage. Seeing is believing.” – Koen Poolman, Oor
